The city of Calcutta, now called Kolkata, was established by the British in 1690 and was the capital of British India until 1911.
Proceed for city tour of Kolkata includes flower market, Victoria Memorial, Dalhousie Square, St. John’s Church, Howrah Bridge, visit the Jain temple and a panoramic drive around colonial Calcutta.
After breakfast, we will take a flight to Bagdogra and from Bagdogra, we will be driving to Darjeeling. Darjeeling is one of the most popular hill stations since the British established it in the mid-1800s. With its idyllic setting, exhilarating climate and stunning views of the Kanchenjunga peaks it also attracts trekkers. It is a fascinating town where one can see Buddhist monasteries, visit tea plantations, bargain-hunt or go trekking.
After breakfast, we will take the Joy Ride on World Heritage Toy Train, Darjeeling to Ghoom and back. Afternoon walk to Observatory Hill and Bhutia Basti.
Early morning visit Tiger Hill and Ghoom Monastery. After breakfast visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute which is closed on Thursday; Zoological Park, which is closed on Thursday and Tibetan Refugee Centre that is closed on Sunday.
After breakfast, drive to Gangtok. Gangtok (meaning ‘High Hill’) is the capital of Sikkim state and sits on a ridge overlooking the
Ranipul river. The scenery is spectacular, with fine views of the Kanchenjunga range. Within the city and its immediate environs are some fascinating places to visit.
After breakfast, take a full day sightseeing of Gangtok. Places to visit Rumtek Monastery, Do Drul Chorten (Stupa), Namgyal Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sundays), Cottage Industry (closed on Sundays) and Enchey Monastery.
After breakfast, full-day excursion to Phodong and Labrang Monastery.
After breakfast, drive to Kalimpong. Upon arrival check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure.
After breakfast, Morning visit Zang Dog Palri Fo Brang Monastery, Tharpa Choling Monastery, Thongsa Gumpa and flower nursery.
After breakfast, drive to Bagdogra airport to connect the flight to Kolkata. In Kolkata, you will be provided assisted arrival transfer from airport to hotel
