Kerala is a region of staggering scenic beauty that is host to jungle and beach, tea hills and historic towns. This Indian state also enjoys the best of small and unique hotels.
On this South India Holidays Tour, we will start our journey with the pretty hill town of Sultan’s Battery. Then we will drive through the Western Ghats south to the village of Palakkad where we have arranged a special homestay for you. A holiday in India is incomplete without experiencing hometays. So, the next stop would be rural Neriamangalam.
Additionally in this South India Holidays Kerala Special tour, we will also be staying at a 1920s plantation bungalow of Serenity and beside the Keralan Backwaters at Coconut Lagoon. Later end the tour with a 2 night historic tour in the town of Kochi.

British Airways fly direct from London Heathrow to Kerala. Your tour starts from Kozhikode. Virgin Atlantic have daily flights to Delhi and Jet Airways fly direct from London.
Direct flights from the UK take between 8 and 10 hours depending on the destination. Flights with stops en-route take between 12 and 14 hours.

3 Hours Before Flight Time
Today you will take your international flight from the UK – Etihad Airways via Abu Dhabi
Today we will be arriving into Abu Dhabi and connect onto the Etihad flight to Kozhikode. Today you will be met by our representative and driven to Sultan’s Battery where you will stay for the next three nights. The region is known for Kerala’s coffee, cardamom and vanilla growing region.
Over Day 3 & 4, we will be enjoying the surrounding local areas. You can also enjoy birdwatching as this area is a host to 127 different species including hoopoe, drongo, hornbill, kingfisher and the magnificent crested serpent hawk.
Today morning we will leave for Palakkad driving through the beautiful Western Ghats.
You are in Palakkad. Take the day at leisure and relax in peaceful surroundings. We will also be visiting nearby villages where you can meet local potters and basket weavers at work. We will take long walks and cycle rides through the local villages and attend puja ceremonies.
Today, after breakfast, we will leave Palakkad and continue to Neriamangalam where you will be staying for two night in a homestay.
Today, your day is at leisure. You can enjoy guided forest trek, spend a day birdwatching, borrow the property’s bicycles, meet the local villagers or explore the Western Ghats.
Today, in the morning, you will leave Neriamangalam and drive to Kanam for a two-night stay at 1920s plantation bungalow surround with tea hills and backwaters.
Today you will be exploring the surrounding countryside. We can arrange walks through many of the surrounding plantations, visit a neighbouring tropical garden or take a leisurely bicycle ride.
Today, after breakfast, you will be driving to Kumarakom where you will stay for three nights at Coconut Lagoon. This is Kerala’s most beautiful region. Alternatively, you can choose to stay at the Marari Beach Resort or Niraamaya – Surya Samudra close to Kovalam.
Over the next two days, you are at leisure to relax and enjoy Coconut Lagoon. Explore the backwaters and birdlife through a canoe ride.
After breakfast leave Kumarakom and drive to Kochi.
Today we will be exploring Fort Kochi with a guide. We will walk the historic town to Kochi. Start the tour by visiting the church of St Francis, the oldest European church in India. Thereafter, walk to the town’s waterfront – site of the iconic Chinese fishing nets. We will be visiting Mattancherry Palace, which was built by the Portuguese in 1557 as a gift to the Raja of Kochi, and the town’s fine 450-year-old synagogue which is the oldest functioning synagogue in Kerala. Later we will go for a sunset cruise along the harbour.
Today you will be transferred to Kochi Airport for your flight back to the UK.
