This India Golden Triangle Tour 2018-2019 explores the sights and sounds of the famous Golden Triangle tour map including the iconic Taj Mahal, monuments in Delhi like Raj Ghat, Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, Humayun’s Tomb and the Pink City, Jaipur.

Welcome to India! Day One in Delhi: Welcome to India’s capital and a bustling metropolis. From ancient heritage to modern advancements, this city serves as the perfect amalgamation of the two. On this day, you can opt for Cooking Demo with Dinner with an Indian Family that will have to be pre-booked. This will include a simple cooking lesson or a hands-on cooking lesson along with a local market visit. You can also opt for a Private Evening Tour of Akshardham Temple with Musical Fountain Show under the guidance of an expert travel guide. Please note that the temple is closed on Monday. The second-day tour will commence after breakfast. The tour includes Old & New Delhi – the 17th century Jama Masjid, a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, the magnificent Red Fort, Raj Ghat, which is Mahatma Gandhi’s crematory site. Later in the afternoon, we will be driving past The Presidential Palace, which also served as the residence of the British viceroys during imperialism, and India Gate, a memorial of the Indian soldiers. We will also drive along the Rajpath and secretarial buildings. Except for Mondays, visit the Rail Museum that houses a fascinating and exotic collection of over 100 real size exhibits of Indian Railways. Afterwards visit Qutub Minar, the 12th-century tower of victory built by a slave king. Also visit the 16th century Humayun’s tomb, a precursor to the Taj Mahal. Spend the evening at leisure.
Optional Tour: An extensive tour on the cycle rickshaw that covers 20 main sites which include palaces, mansions, elegant shrines and colourful bazaars. This is a detailed tour with several stops and includes complimentary snacks. Or, a Walking Tour that includes unique delights Nizamuddin Basti Walk Late afternoon, walk through Nizamuddin Basti (colony), a medieval settlement where the tomb of the famous 13th century Muslim Sufi Saint Nizamuddin Auliya is located. This tour is conducted by an underprivileged young adult trained by a local NGO. Overnight at the Hotel
We will take the train to Agra (Gatimaan express) 0810/0950 Hrs in A/C Chair class. Except for Fridays. On arrival, visit the Agra Fort, which was originally started by Emperor Akbar in 1565, but his son, Jahangir, and grandson, Shah Jahan, later made valuable additions to it. Check-in the hotel. Later in the afternoon, Visit Taj Mahal (Closed on Friday). Once a small village on the banks of the Yamuna, it was transformed by two great Mughal monarchs, Akbar and his grandson Shah Jehan into the second capital of the Mughal Empire – Dar-ul-Khilafat, or ‘seat of the Emperor’ in the 16th; 17th century. The Taj is the finest example of this special process called pietra dura. It begins with a marble plate, varying in size. Then jewels are sliced paper thin and embedded in the marble with such precision that the joints are invisible to the naked eye.
Optional Experience: Kachpura Heritage Walk; In the afternoon, a walk through the narrow bridle path – agriculture fields near Mehtab Bagh takes you into the ancient village of Kachpura and Humayun’s Mosque. The walk ends in Mehtab Bagh from where you will have the opportunity to watch the Taj Mahal during sunset from across the river.
Enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri Drive; Approx. 240 km / 5 Hrs Drive to Jaipur Morning after breakfast drive to Jaipur.
Optional Experience – Early Morning – Sunrise Taj Visit During your drive, you will visit the once seat of Mughal legacy, which is an abandoned city glowing red under the sun, Fatehpur Sikri – the deserted red sandstone city built by the Great Mughal Emperor, Akbar, as his capital and palace in the late 16th century is just 37kms from Agra. Continue your drive to Jaipur also, visit Abhaneri famous stepwells en route, arrive and check-in at the hotel JAIPUR – the capital of Rajasthan province is known for its arts and crafts, jewellery, hand-painted fabrics and stone sculptures; it is one of North India’s finest examples of a planned city embodying the best of Rajput and Mughal architecture.
Optional Experience: – Food Walk in Jaipur (Evening) From its creation in 1727 the royal families and nobles of Jaipur patronized the craftsmen and artisans of the city. These traditions continue to this day and as a result, modern-day Jaipur is considered by many as the craft capital of India. Traditional methods are still used to produce many valuable and highly prized items. Using skills passed down through generations, artisans and master craftsmen can be seen in the areas of Ghat Darwaza and Vishveshwar Ji.
On this fascinating evening walk mingle and talk with the locals whilst sampling some of the regions culinary delights; try pakoras, aloo tiki, samosa and sweets from some of the city’s most popular street food vendors. Observe local artisans in their workshops; jewellers and silversmiths, gold and silver foil makers. The iconic Hawa Mahal also called the Palace of the winds is the meeting point at which these two and a half-hour walk begins. Spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight at Hotel
Visit Amber fort – a UNESCO world heritage site. After breakfast, visit the hilltop fortress at Amber in a jeep. Take a stroll through the sprawling complex of courtyards and halls. Enroute Haha Mahal. Afternoon visit the City Palace, which is an overwhelming complex of exquisite palaces, gardens and courtyards, decorative art and carved doorways. Afterwards visit Jaipur’s Jantar Mantar is the most famous of five observatories built by Sawai Jai Singh in India. Jai Singh was a great admirer of progresses and research made in the fields of science and technology, and he was passionate about astronomy. In the evening, you will be taken for a Cooking Demonstration followed by meal with the Indian family in their home. Overnight at Hotel
Drive to Delhi; Rest of the day is at leisure. After breakfast, you will drive back to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, check-in at the hotel.
Optional Experience–Visit to Bagru Textile Printing near Jaipur. Bagru is little town 30 km from Jaipur. Known for its unique art of Block Printing, Bagru has emerged as one of the industrial areas for textile printing in Rajasthan with over a 100 small & large scale Factories. This is hands-on-experience where you create your own piece of art under a mentor to take back with you as a memento of your travels to India.
Optional Experience–Visit Kingdom Of Dreams, Gurgaon; NCR Delhi except for Mondays. This will take you to a real-life a blend of India’s art, culture, heritage, craft, cuisine and performing art. Nautanki Mahal showcases an extravagant cinematic and theatrical musical. Culture Gully is an elaborate culture, arts, crafts and Food Boulevard. Showshaa Theatre is a fabulous, colourful drama marquee spotlighting Indian mythology productions, a mock wedding show and the great Indian talent circus. Iifa Buzz is a glamorous Bollywood themed cafe. In short, this is a one-stop destination to capture the imagination of the world. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.
