Central India Holidays make travel worthwhile for this is a part of India that only a few get to see. Our special curated Central India Holidays will first take you through the admiring Kolkata’s architecture and Raipur’s Chhattisgarh.

We will also spend three fascinating days in Kanker home to a number of different tribal groups. From there, we will explore the national parks of India namely, Kanha and Bandhavgarh and then proceed to the temples of Khajuraho. We will end our trip in Varanasi by the Ganges, the most important Hindu Pilgrimage site.

Central India Holidays - 20 Days Exploring Tigers, Temples & Palaces

Day 1DEPART THE UK

Today we will take a connecting flight to Kolkata with Emirates via Dubai.

Day 2ARRIVE KOLKATA

Today, you will reach Kolkata. You will be met by our representative at the airport and transferred to your hotel.

DAY 3 & 4KOLKATA

In the next two days, we will explore all the major sights including St John’s Church, the Writers Building, South Park Cemetery and the silver-domed General Post Office. Later, we will also visit Victoria Memorial, built-in 1921 and today a treasure trove of Raj relics. Later in the day, we will visit the largest museum in the country.

Day 5KOLKATA to RAIPUR

Today, we will fly to Raipur, the tribal belt of Chhattisgarh

Day 6RAIPUR to KANKER

Today, we will leave for Kanker in an air-conditioned. This was a town built by the British in the early 20th century. Kanker combines its colonial heritage with over seven-hundred years of Indian royal history. We have arranged your accommodation at the palace of Maharajkumar Surya Pratap Deo, a descendant of the ruling Chandravansh family.

Day 7 & 8KANKER

Over the next two days, we will explore Kanker and the surrounding countryside. Meet the Gond, Muria, Maria and Halba, tribes – a great way to experience a unique way of life in the tribal India.

Day 9KANKER to KANHA

Today, we will drive to Kanha National Park.

Day 10 & 11KANHA

Over the next two days, we will be exploring Kanha set within a section of the Satpura Range. This park is home to tiger, bison, leopard, jackal, wild boar, sambar, Indian swamp deer and blackbuck as well as a rich variety of birdlife.

Day 12KANHA to BANDHAVGARH

After breakfast leave Kanha and continue by road to Bandhavgarh National Park.

Day 13 & 14BANDHAVGARH

Over the next two days explore the reserve, which is home to tiger, leopard, sloth bear, sambar, chital, barking deer, gaur and nilgai in India. There is also extensive birdlife that includes hornbill, crested serpent eagle, partridge, variable hawk eagle and parakeet.

DAY 15BANDHAVGARH to KHAJURAHO

After an early morning safari drive leave Bandhavgarh and begin your journey through the Madhya Pradesh country to the temple town of Khajuraho.

DAY 16KHAJURAHO

Today, we will explore the temples of Khajuraho that date back to the 11th and 12th centuries and known for the erotic sculpture in India, if not the world.

Day 17KHAJURAHO to VARANASI

Today transfer to Khajuraho Airport to catch the onward flight to Varanasi.

Day 18VARANASI

We will start in the morning as we take a ride on a small rowing boat on the River Ganges to watch the sunrise. You will see how beautiful it is when pilgrims gather to perform their daily religious rituals. Later, we will take a guided walk through the heart of the old city lanes. In the afternoon visit the evocative ruined city of Sarnath where Buddha first preached his message of enlightenment 2,500 years ago.

Day 19VARANASI to DELHI

Today, you will catch a flight to Delhi and transferred for your overnight stay at a hotel in Delhi. Rest of the day is at leisure.
